Incheon Chinatown and Wolmido
Brief story about Chinatown:
This region was laid out in 1883 around a similar time as the Incheon Port opening, when Chinese migrants navigated the sea for work. Incheon was assigned as an extraterritoriality of the Ching Tradition and not long after the 'Incheon Chinese Society' was laid out. The region decayed until the government saw a potential chance to develop the area. Today, it's one of the most well known places of interest in Incheon.
On to our experience!
eng/kor) Korean life vlog: Incheon Chinatown and Wolmido cafe date with hubby
We went to Chinatown in Incheon (인천 차이나타운) to have some authentic Korean-Chinese food - Chinatown is said to be the birthplace of jjajangmyeon (짜장면) after all. They even have a full on museum dedicated to the history of this dish! We went straight to this cute little restaurant to have jjajangmyeon, of course, and fried rice with the jjajang sauce for me. The service was faster than any fast-food chain (Mc, King and Lott I'm looking at you) and the food was amazing! Not to mention the sweet lady who, upon seeing we were both wearing light colored shirts, brought us these little bibs. Can't imagine the disaster it would be to spill jjajang sauce on a white shirt, oof...
